Shrek The Musical JR, a musical reimagining of the much-loved, Academy Award winning film Shrek, is coming to Brisbane these September school holidays.

Production Details
Stage School Australia's school holiday productions are designed to replicate the structure, and scale of a professional musical theatre experience.
Students rehearse with professional creatives to learn upbeat songs, choreography and hilarious scenes, then bring it all to the big stage in a full-scale production with sets, props, exciting costumes, and a live audience!
This is a unique opportunity for young performers to collaborate, develop their performance skills in a fast-paced rehearsal environment, and spend the school holidays fully immersed in creativity alongside like-minded peers.
About the Show
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film and the hit Broadway musical, Shrek The Musical JR. follows the story of an unlikely hero who sets out on a quest to rescue a feisty princess from a dragon-guarded tower. Along the way, Shrek is joined by a wisecracking Donkey and a colourful cast of fairy tale characters who have been banished from their homes by the villainous Lord Farquaad.
Packed with catchy songs, larger-than-life characters, and plenty of laughs, this feel-good musical celebrates friendship, courage, and the importance of embracing what makes us unique. With a message of acceptance and self-confidence at its heart, Shrek The Musical JR. reminds us that true beauty comes from within.

• Successful applicants will be invited to attend an in-person callback
• Ensure you're available for all performer commitments including photoshoots, rehearsals, and performances
Rehearsals & Performances
The cast will take part in a 1-week intensive rehearsal period during the September school holidays.
Following rehearsals, the cast will complete a week-long performance season.
