The Young Australian Broadway Chorus (YABC) is Australia’s leading and most dynamic musical theatre training program for young performers, combining professional tuition with exciting performance opportunities.
Students work weekly with specialist directors in singing, dance and drama, developing strong, well-rounded performance skills while gaining confidence and discipline through structured rehearsals.

Time Commitment
Between 2 - 3.25 hours each week (depending on age).
Cost
Semester 2, 2026 fee range: $996 - $1,225
Equivalent hourly rate: $22.50
Dependent on class level, state, and class length.
Your fee covers everything your child needs to perform with confidence - all rehearsals, costumes, and participation in our end-of-semester productions.
You can choose to:
- Pay upfront for the Semester or full year, or
- Spread payments across the year in convenient instalments.
The only additional expenses are:
- Uniforms
- Tickets for family and friends to attend performances
There are no hidden extra costs.
If your child needs to withdraw during the year, refunds are available in line with our refund policy.

Progressive Opportunities

Curriculum-Based Learning
Each course follows a curriculum tailored to its' age group and skill level. Rehearsal directors guide students through skills and material at a steady pace across the semester, all while working towards a polished performance outcome.
We’ve Got Everything Covered
Families don’t need to worry about sourcing costumes or assisting backstage. Classes are fully managed by our teaching staff, so families can simply drop students off for rehearsals and enjoy the final show.
Fully Costumed Performances
At the end of each semester, students showcase their work in a fully costumed production. It’s a chance to step into character, perform on stage, and celebrate everything they’ve learned with friends and family in the audience.
Levels of Training
The YABC presents opportunities to develop skills as students progress through group levels within the hierarchy. Students are regularly assessed to ensure they’re placed in the right group for their skill level. As their abilities grow, they can move into more advanced training, keeping their learning dynamic and challenging.

Does my child need experience to join?
Not at all. YABC welcomes students of all experience levels. We have a range of class levels so your child can start building skills from the beginning or continue growing as a performer.
What happens in a class?
Each YABC class includes singing, dancing and drama, with each discipline taught by a specialist rehearsal director. In one dynamic weekly session, students learn lyrics, choreography, drama techniques and group performance pieces. Every class follows a tailored curriculum designed to suit the age and skill level of the group.
Is it suitable for shy kids?
Yes! Many students join YABC to build confidence. Classes are welcoming and supportive, helping even the quietest kids find their voice on stage.
Will my child get to perform?
Yes! Every YABC student performs in two fully staged, costumed productions each year. It’s a highlight of the program and a fantastic way to grow stage skills.
What should my child wear to class?
YABC students should wear black jazz shoes and black jazz pants which can be purchased at any dance store, along with their YABC t-shirt which is available for purchase from the Stage School uniform shop. Students should also bring a water bottle to each class.
Can my child join mid-year?
If there is space in a suitable class, yes. We have intake for new students at the beginning of the year, and again for Semester 2.
How do we join?
We offer cost & obligation-free auditions and trial classes every six months, so your child can experience the program and see if it’s the right fit before signing up. These are designed to be a taster session and no experience is required!
Repertoire-based learning
Our repertoire challenges and excites, blending iconic Broadway songs with acting-through-song techniques, and lively choreography that builds both technique and performance skills.
