Musical Theatre Classes (YABC)

The Young Australian Broadway Chorus (YABC) has been inspiring and challenging young performers since 1999. YABC currently offers musical theatre courses to young people aged 8 – 18 years across venues in Melbourne and Brisbane.

• Our young performers work with a music director, dance director and drama director to improve technique, build confidence and increase self-esteem while enjoying the fun of working as part of a team.
• Skills developed throughout the semester are showcased on in professionally staged performances.
• Students may join at any age from the year they turn eight, and may progress through the hierarchy of the organisation based on their age and ability.

Singing, Dancing & Acting for kids (Beginners OnStage)

Beginners OnStage inspires young performers through weekly classes for kids 4-7 years at venues across Melbourne and Brisbane. Children get to enjoy and learn singing, dancing and acting all in one easy 1.5 hour weekly class.

• We also offer our new 1 hour pre-school Foundation* program for 4 & 5 year olds at selected locations across Melbourne!
• Studies have shown that creative play helps foster confidence, creativity and social and personal development.
• Twice each year the students take to the stage in fully costumed and themed performances.

Drama Classes (AYT)

The Australian Youth Theatre (AYT) has been inspiring and challengingyoung performers for over 30 years. AYT currently offers weekly drama courses to young people aged 8 – 18 years in locations across Melbourne and Brisbane.

• Students may join at any age from the year they turn eight, and may progress through the hierarchy of the organisation based on their age and ability.

Our unique programme combines elements of two key areas:

• ‘Creative drama’ uses a variety of activities to develop spontaneity, imagination, focus, confidence, verbal and physicality.
• ‘Stagecraft drama’ places an emphasis on vocal projection and clarity, acting techniques, text as the basis for characterisation, and physical staging.
