Fun weekly sessions to get you Dance Fit! Get your brain and body moving with moves to stretch and strengthen while you’re learning a wide range of musical theatre styles from the classics to street dance.

Over the course of 4 weekly sessions, students will work with VYT teachers on improvisation and drama skills.

Each week students will work with different tutors covering the basics of acting for the camera – monologues, casting, chat to camera, screen tests, self-tests and scene work.

MUSICAL THEATRE – Training Level

Over the course of 4 weekly sessions, students will work with one of our YABC teachers to refine their singing, dancing and drama skills.

Throughout the short course, performing level students will work with one of our YABC teachers to refine their singing, dancing and acting skills.

Classes available at Brunswick, Hawthorn, Sandringham and Ringwood.

The sessions you choose will occur at the same time, each day of the workshop week. Pick your session(s) and create a schedule that suits you!

Terms and Conditions

Payment for the 4-week program must be made in full at the time of enrolment. Payments are non-refundable, and no refund is payable in the event of withdrawal or missed classes.

Proof of Vaccination:

It will be a government requirement for some participants to show proof of their full vaccination status when attending short courses with Stage School Australia in 2021:

  • 16+ years: all students must show proof of vaccination status upon entry at first class
  • 12-15 years: when Victoria moves to Phase D of ‘Victoria’s Roadmap’ (indicative date 24 November 2021), students aged 12-15 years may be required show proof of vaccination status.  Whilst this is not currently mandated, Stage School will continue to follow the advice from DHHS, and students aged 12-15 years may be required to show proof of vaccination status upon entry at their next class.
  • 4-11 years: are exempt and do not need to prove vaccination status at this stage

Participants may show proof of vaccination status via the Service Victoria app, via a stored certificate in a digital wallet or by presenting a physical certificate.  Participants can also present a valid written medical exemption.  Stage School staff will note citation of the proof of vaccination and will store this information securely on the student’s record. In the event that proof of vaccination cannot be provided, participants will not be allowed entry to the venue.

Cancellation due to Events Outside Control:

Stage School Australia may cancel any short course classes due to Events Outside Control. In that case, if any classes are cancelled:

  • All affected classes will be conducted online
  • No refund of fees or class credits will be offered

Event Outside Control includes any event outside the control of Stage School Australia including: epidemics; pandemics; natural disasters, fires and floods; lockouts, industrial action and strikes; war, riots and acts of terrorism; travel bans, warnings and restrictions; and acts, directives or orders of any government or governmental department.

Supervision Fee:

Supervision at the venue is only guaranteed for 15 minutes after the end of the class. Supervision provided after the first 15 minutes will incur a supervision fee of $15.00 (incl. GST) for each further 15 minute period or part thereof. Supervision fees will be debited to your account.


Stage School Australia is committed to the health of all students and staff members. Whilst we aim, as far as practicable, to provide a safe and healthy environment, we recognise that achieving a completely allergen free setting is difficult, particularly in an extra-curriculum based context. As such, Stage School Australia considers communication, education and the implementation of practical strategies to be most effective in reducing exposure to known allergens.Stage School Australia has adopted and implemented a range of procedures and risk minimisation strategies to: reduce the risk of a student having an anaphylactic reaction; and ensure that staff are trained to respond appropriately if a student suffers an anaphylactic reaction.

If a student suffers any allergies or anaphylaxis, it is imperative that you supply Stage School Australia with the essential information. If required, a Medical Action Plan must be submitted and the appropriate medication must be with the student when attending all Stage School Australia events. Our Site Managers are fully trained in anaphylactic management.

Illness and Injury:

Whilst we will take all reasonable steps to ensure staff are adequately trained for the general conduct of our rehearsals, courses, and workshops, we do not accept any responsibility for any illness or injury suffered as a result of participation in them or other activity organised by Stage School Australia.Participation in various rehearsals, courses and workshops requires a certain level of physical fitness and ability and parents/guardians should ensure the student is medically and physically capable or participating. Suitable shoes must be worn at all times.You agree to the staff of Stage School Australia seeking medical attention for the student, including calling an ambulance in the event of illness or injury, if they consider it necessary and you agree to pay all associated costs.

Personal Belongings:

All personal belongings of students should be clearly labelled with their name and phone number. Students should not bring valuable items to rehearsals, classes or workshops. Students are responsible for the safe keeping of all their personal belongings at all times and Stage School Australia does not take responsibility for any lost, damaged or stolen items.


You agree to Stage School Australia taking photographs and making audio and/or visual recordings of the student and for those photographs and recordings or any part of them to be used in promotional material for Stage School Australia and its activities and events. This includes, but is not limited to, printed materials, online and in social media and on Stage School Australia’s website. When selecting and using images Stage School Australia endeavours to select appropriate images of the student undertaking a relevant activity, which show the student in a positive light and reduces the ability to be able to identify the student. Parents/guardians and students must not take photographs or make audio and/or visual recordings at any rehearsals, workshops or performances or within venues.

Student Conduct:

We expect all students to observe the code of conduct including taking instruction and being polite and respectful of the teacher and of each other. In the event of wilful disobedience or severe breaches of the Stage School Code of Conduct (available at participants may be removed from the Short Course. No refund will be payable in this instance.

  • Do not attend classes if you have any cold, flu or fever like symptoms.  Please phone, SMS or email apologies to your Site Manager.
  • Maintain physical distancing at all times.
  • Proper hygiene practices should be followed.
  • Proper cleaning and contact tracing documentation will be maintained.
  • Please ensure you comply with all current COVID-Safe government restrictions and regulations, specifically regarding wearing face masks.
