Head of Dance
Jacqui is one of Australia’s leading choreographers, adjudicators, dancers, and dance teachers. As a choreographer and dancer, Jacqui’s credits include The Don Lane Show, The Ronnie Corbett Show, The Midday Show, The AFI Awards, and The Logie Awards. Jacqui played the leading role of Cassie in the national tour of A Chorus Line (Mo Award Nomination), and has also featured in productions of Funny Girl, The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly, and Cabaret. Directorial credits include a tour of Asia and New Zealand as the resident director of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for the Really Useful Group. Head of Dance for Stage School Australia since 1999, more recently Jacqui has choreographed SSA productions of Seussical and Joseph (Malthouse Theatre and Adelaide Fringe), Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR, Beauty and the Beast JR, Aladdin JR, Wicked and Les Misérables.
Luke has performed in London’s West End including We Will Rock You at The Dominion Theatre, Saturday Night Fever at Apollo Victoria and West End Rocks. On return to Australia Luke appeared in Dusty, The Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls, Mamma Mia, Xanadu, Moonshadow, A Chorus Line and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Luke has created and starred in his own One Man show The Dancin Man, which he has taken to Sydney, Melbourne, Regional and most recently P&O Cruises. Luke is a sought after Choreographer for Carols by Candlelight, Saturday Night Fever at Chapel Off Chapel just to name a few. TV credits include Always Greener, Australia’s Got Talent, Paul O’Grady Show, Kerrie Anne, Sunrise and various commercials and corporate appearances. On the Big screen, Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge, Dein Perry’s Bootmen, Gallipoli From Above, and The Divorce for the ABC. His children Chiara and Alessio, and his gorgeous wife Sabrina, inspire him every day.
Will prides himself on his versatility and passion for the Performing Arts, excelling in areas of Management, Performance and Design. He joined YABC at the age of 8 and has appeared in many productions including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Seussical and Wicked. He was a member of the Triple Threats and toured with the 2015 This is Australia USA tour group. Will completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the VCA in Production in 2017 and has worked with Kinky Boots, The Book of Mormon, Jersey Boys, the MTC and most recently, Nine the Musical. Will currently studies full time dance at The Space.
Cara has toured Australia, New Zealand, and Asia as a performer in major musical productions including Cats, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, My Fair Lady, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Showboat, The Merry Widow, Singing in the Rain, The Wizard of Oz, Mack and Mabel, and The Producers. She is a leading performing arts teacher and lecturer, and has lectured at VCA, VCASS and The University of Ballarat.
Cara has also worked in festivals and events, as artistic director, director, choreographer, and producer. She has an Advanced Diploma in Creative Arts, and will soon complete a Masters in Directing for Performance at VCA.
Jackson Hurwood has been singing, dancing and acting from a young age. Originally a student with Stage School Australia – Jackson was in Triple Threats for 3 years, performing many solos such as the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Hamilton and Dewey from School of Rock. Jackson also starred in YABC shows such as Aladdin (Genie), Wicked (Wizard) and most recently Les Misérables (Thenardier). Outside of Stage School Jackson has been writing, recording and performing original Hip Hop/Pop music under the pseudonym Earnest Jackson.
Amber completed her Bachelor of Creative Arts at Deakin University in 2010, majoring in Contemporary Dance. She moved to Perth to study her honours in Contemporary Dance at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with the LINK Dance Company. During her time with LINK, Amber worked and collaborated with nationally and internationally renowned choreographers and performed in company tours to Europe and across Australia. Amber has been teaching a broad genre of dance for ten years and is a choreographer for dance schools and musicals across Victoria.
Daniel is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he completed a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre). Before heading to WAAPA, Daniel spent two years as a Triple Threat at YABC and is thrilled to be back with the company, however this time as a teacher for both the Young Australian Broadway Chorus and the Australian Boys Dance Academy. Daniel’s theatre credits include Disney’s Aladdin (Melbourne, Her Majesty’s Theatre), Paw Patrol (Australia & Asia Tour), Nipper in Oliver! (Melbourne and Singapore – Cameron Mackintosh/IMG), Young Simba in The Lion King (Melbourne and Shanghai – Disney Theatrical Productions) and Ensemble in the Melbourne premiere of Spring Awakening (YABC/Matthew Henderson).
Corey is a past student of both The Australian Boys Dance Academy and the Young Australian Broadway Chorus, and was lucky enough to perform as a Triple Threat for four years. Throughout his time at Stage School, Corey performed as a soloist many times at the National Theatre gala shows, and was even lucky enough to travel to the US in 2018 as part of the This Is Australia tour. Most recently Corey featured in the YABC’s 2019 production of Les Misérables at the National Theatre. Outside of Stage School Corey has performed many lead roles for amateur theatre companies in show such as, Camp Rock, Aladdin and 13. Corey is currently studying a double degree in Arts and Masters of teaching, where he majors in Drama and minors in Dance.
Jemma is a former YABC student of 10 years, finishing up her time with the company as a Triple Threat in 2012. Since then she has trained at Spectrum Performing Arts, receiving her certificates 3&4 in Dance and this lead her to working overseas. Jemma has worked a Singer/Dancer at Universal Studios Singapore, Dubai Parks and Resorts and was a Lead Singer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line for consecutive contracts.
