Classes & Times

What happens in Boys Dance classes each week.

Weekly Lessons, 8 -18 years

Each weekly lesson commences with a warmup. After the warmup, classes are divided into sessions which focus on different dance styles including jazz, tap and hip hop to build fitness and technique. Each individual class is taught by a specialist in that style. From time to time a different style of dance may be incorporated in the weekly lesson. Boys are expected to practice throughout the week, as little as 10 minutes/day.

Throughout the year, parents are invited to a short demonstration class to see the progression of their son.

Weekly Lessons, 6-7 years

Weekly lessons (1 hour & 15 mins) run the same as the older sessions, however boys at this age only study two different dance styles each week and rotate through all dance genres during the term.

For all levels, we also recommend that stretching each day just before bed is very beneficial, and relaxing.

Our classes are a safe place to develop skills without the pressure of large performances or competitions. Boys will present what they have learned in one low-key demonstration at the Phoenix Theatre in Elwood to celebrate their achievements.
