Beginners OnStage

Discover the joy of performing! Beginners OnStage supports children 5-7 years old as they discover a new world of performing, creativity and important life skills. Perfect for parents looking for kids activities in Melbourne.  We also have our new early years Foundation preschool program for 4 & 5 year olds at five locations across Melbourne.

BoS: Fees & FAQs


Annual fees for Foundation (4-5 years) classes are $740* and Beginners OnStage (5-7 years) are $1095*.  If you join at the mid year point fees are pro-rated to 55% (there are more weeks in Semester Two).  All fees include weekly rehearsals, materials and performance costumes.  For payment plan options view our full FAQs.  * 2019 fees, subject to change.

Term Information

Classes commence late February, then follow the government school terms.  Students can also join in June/July.  Classes finish around the first week of December.  Performances are held in June and late November/early December.

Performance Information

Foundation students perform twice a year in a fully costumed demonstration at the Guild Theatre, Parkville. This performance is free for family and friends to attend, tickets are limited due to the size of the theatre.

All Beginners OnStage students perform twice a year in a fully costumed concert at the Union Theatre, Parkville.  Performances are ticketed and prices range from $31.50-$33.50 (+ booking fees, subject to change).


All Foundation and Beginners OnStage performers wear the Beginners OnStage T-Shirt to rehearsals, along with black jazz shoes and black leggings or track pants.  Many students also purchase a Beginners OnStage hoodie.


Costumes are provided by Beginners OnStage for all performances.


All Foundation and Beginners OnStage students require a pair of black jazz shoes.
