Shrek the Musical Jr.
Coming up in the School Holidays! 12-15 July, 2017
Beginners OnStage is a weekly performing arts programme for young children aged five to seven years old. Children work each week with a singing teacher, dance teacher and drama teacher to develop performing skills, creative play and confidence.
The Beginners OnStage programme introduces students to the basics of stagecraft, ensuring that rehearsals and performances are interesting, enjoyable and challenging. Equal focus, is on their development offstage, aiming to increase students’ self-confidence and develop their social skills. Twice each year the students take to the stage in fully costumed and themed performances in a professional theatre at the Union Theatre, Parkville.
In the year children turn eight, they are able to choose whether to continue their performing arts training with the YABC (song, dance and drama) or the VYT (acting, speech and drama), or do both!

"Last night’s Beginners onstage performance was our first ever and I just HAVE to email you to congratulate you all on an incredible night. We loved it, [our son] had a wonderful time. To say we were happy, thrilled, delighted and convinced this was a great thing for our child to do would all be understatements! We were blown away, genuinely moved at times (Nothing’s going to change my world… OMG!!!) and just so very proud as the parents of [our son]... I just wanted to congratulate you all on what is clearly an enormous amount of prep. work, organisation and sheer professional commitment." Beginners OnStage Parent
