Join us in the Spotlight

We run free audition sessions three times a year for anyone interested in joining our programs.

Auditions are available in February, June and November each year. No matter where you attend an audition, you can choose to attend classes at one of Stage School’s many convenient locations across Melbourne. Call today on 8199 8344.

How Auditions Work

Auditions are conducted in groups of approximately 15-20 participants. Parents are invited to the session as a supportive audience, giving them an insight into our courses. The group, which at times will be split into smaller groups and pairs, is led through various performing activities specific to the stream of training (YABC, VYT or Beginners OnStage). These activities may include improvisation, voice and movement. Assessments are based on participation in these exercises.

Our audition activities have been chosen because they are simple enough for inexperienced students to participate fully, yet allow more experienced students to demonstrate their training and ability.

Call today on 8199 8344 to book or find out more about our fantastic performing arts programs.

If you would prefer to connect with us via email fill our our online enquiry form. We will notify you about upcoming audition sessions. Bookings are required, students are grouped according to age, and spaces are limited.

What Happens Next?

After the audition (or Boys Dance trial class), we will be in touch with our recommendation. If you receive an Offer, we place students in the class that matches their age and level of ability at your preferred venue (subject to availability).

We ask prospective students to bear in mind three key points:

  • Enjoy yourself!
  • Auditions are simple. So if you do have previous performing arts experience, make sure you participate in all activities to the best of your abilities to show the teaching Director what you can do.
  • Don’t worry if you have never done anything like this before. Lots of young people audition for us without any previous performing experience.
