We are seeking a creative Marketing Coordinator to drive their own projects as well as provide support to the Marketing Director with the sales, marketing, communications and public relations for the company. 

This is a position that promises to be a busy, diverse role which will include : 

  • Increasing depth of engagement with schools across metro Melbourne to drive increased profile and advertising opportunities for Stage School Australia's various brands (Victorian Youth Theatre, Young Australian Broadway Chorus, Beginners OnStage, Talent Company of Australia, Australian Boys Dance Academy), profile and bookings for The Costume Department and general social media/PR content.
  • Extending internal organizational capacity for high quality graphic design
  • Increasing client engagement numbers and retention in digital media marketing channels including but not limited to the Stage School website, Google+, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
  • Assisting the Marketing Director to increase frequency and depth of reporting across marketing channels
  • Representing Stage School Australia in a sales and marketing capacity at meetings and public-facing events

Key Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Marketing, Business and or Public Relations or similar
  • 3+ years experience in a Marketing, PR or related role (within the teaching and/or performing arts industry preferred, but not mandatory)
  • Above average skills in graphic design and video editing software, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro
  • Valid Victoria Driver’s license and vehicle required
  • Excellent skills and experience in social media content creation (written, video and graphical/photographic) and social media monitoring.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office suite and Web based tools required. Some HTML knowledge required.

This is a 12 month contract with potential for permanency.

The role is based at the company's head office in Moreland.  Weekend and/or evening hours will be required during performance seasons and events.

Stage School Australia, established in 1984, conducts weekly classes in musical theatre and drama for over 3,000 students across Melbourne.

We hire professional actors, singers, dancers as well as performing arts teachers to work with our students, in a structured, performance-based programme of musical theatre / drama training.  Curriculum and repertoire are provided.

We are always seeking expressions of interest from suitable applicants to accept teaching shifts when they become available throughout the year.

We have 18 locations spread across Melbourne's Inner and Outer suburbs, appointments are made specifically per venue.

Successful applicants will have:

  • teaching experience, or natural aptitude a good rapport with children and young people
  • ability to work to a deadline
  • ability to work and communicate with a team
  • an understanding of the consistency and perseverance it takes to put on a successful production
  • a current Working With Children Check
  • a current certificate of first aid training HTLA1D003

Singing Teacher/ Musical Director Requirements

  • tertiary voice training, or equivalent professional experience
  • very confident piano/keyboard skills (vocal warm-up exercises, teaching melodies and accompanying with melody and chords)

Dance Teacher Requirements

  • tertiary dance training, or equivalent professional experience

Drama Teacher Requirements

  • tertiary drama training, or equivalent professional experience
  • teaching experience, or natural aptitude a good rapport with children and young people
  • ability to accurately follow a curriculum blocking notes
