What we’re looking for

Stage School Australia is a fun and fast-paced theatre company for young performers. Accordingly, we’re looking for energetic and enthusiastic staff with an interest in the performing arts.

Specific job opportunities will outline necessary skills but successful applicants generally have excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude, a good rapport with children and young people, stage or film experience preferred but not essential and a current Working with Children Check.

Successful applicants will have:

  • teaching experience, or natural aptitude a good rapport with children and young people
  • ability to work to a deadline
  • ability to work and communicate with a team
  • an understanding of the consistency and perseverance it takes to put on a successful production
  • a current Working With Children Check
  • a current certificate of first aid training HTLA1D003

Work experience

We offer work experience to our current students during our Victorian Youth Theatre and Beginners OnStage performance seasons at the Union Theatre, Parkville. Students attend their placement at the Theatre and perform a variety of Front of House and backstage duties. We also run work experience weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm at our Costume Department in Coburg North. Here, you will learn how our wardrobe department runs and assist with hires and performance preparation.

We hire professional actors, singers, dancers as well as performing arts teachers to work with our students, in a structured, performance-based programme of musical theatre / drama training.  Curriculum and repertoire are provided.

Voice, Dance and Drama Teachers - Brisbane

Stage School Australia is looking for staff to join its Queensland team!

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitable applicants to accept Voice, Dance and Drama teaching shifts; as well as Venue/Teaching Assistants.

The successful applicants will have:

  • tertiary level training in dance/voice/drama, or equivalent professional experience (ie. significant other training, performance experience, competitive dance, etc.)
  • confident and proficient piano skills to teach and accompany students in rehearsals (voice teachers)
  • excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude
  • teaching experience, or natural aptitude
  • a good rapport with children and young people
  • stage or film experience preferred but not essential
  • hold a current Working with Children Check

Classes will run between 4.00pm and 9.30pm weeknights and 9.00am to 5.00pm Saturday at various locations around Brisbane and surrounding suburbs; including Mount Gravatt, Jindalee and The Gap.
