What we’re looking for:

Stage School Australia is a fun and fast-paced theatre company for young performers. Accordingly, we’re looking for energetic and enthusiastic staff with an interest in the performing arts.

Specific job opportunities will outline necessary skills but successful applicants generally have excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude, a good rapport with children and young people, stage or film experience preferred but not essential and a current Working with Children Check.

Work experience

We offer work experience to our current students during our Victorian Youth Theatre and Beginners OnStage performance seasons at the Union Theatre, Parkville. Students attend their placement at the Theatre and perform a variety of Front of House and backstage duties. We also run work experience weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm at our Costume Department in Coburg North. Here, you will learn how our wardrobe department runs and assist with hires and performance preparation.

Office Manager

Stage School Australia is looking to appoint an OFFICE MANAGER to oversee the daily operations of our head office.

Stage School Australia is Victoria’s largest performing arts school and talent agency for young people aged 3-18 years. With over 35 years year track record, sites in both Melbourne and Brisbane, over 5,000 students and a faculty of 100+, Stage School is the industry leader in this field.

About the role:

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of head office, ensuring the correct resources and processes are in place to run efficiently
  • Supervise and support head office administrative staff – this role has 5 direct reports
  • Responsible for the management the company email inbox, responding and delegation
  • Responsible for managing the ticketing processes for Stage School performance events
  • Oversee customer service and manages client feedback process
  • Based at the company’s head office in Coburg with occasional weekend and/or evening hours required during performance seasons and events.

 

About you:

To shine in this role you will have strong organisational and communication skills, with a proven ability to problem solve and work both independently and as part of a team. We are a company with a big footprint across Melbourne so we are looking for someone ready to jump in and get things done.

You will also have:

  • 3+ years experience in Office Management or related role
  • Tertiary business or related qualification
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated strong leadership
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and demonstration of flexibility within a changing environment
  • Experience with a database/CRM (FileMaker, Salesforce, Tessitura) highly beneficial
  • Experience within the education and/or performing arts industry (preferred)

Dance Teachers - Brisbane + Melbourne

Stage School Australia is looking for both emerging and experienced Dance Teachers to join its team!

We are currently looking for Dance Teachers of all levels of skill and experience to accept dance teaching shifts in various locations across Melbourne and Brisbane.

Curriculum and repertoire are provided. Rehearsals are conducted during Government School terms and outside school hours.

Classes are generally run between 4.00pm and 9.30pm weeknights and 9.00am to 5.00pm Saturday at various locations around Melbourne, Brisbane, and surrounding suburbs.

The successful applicants will have:

  • tertiary dance training, or equivalent professional experience (ie. significant other dance training, competitive dance throughout teen years etc.)
  • excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude
  • teaching experience, or natural aptitude
  • a good rapport with children and young people
  • a current Working with Children Check

Voice Teachers - Brisbane + Melbourne

Stage School Australia is looking for both emerging and experienced Voice Teachers to join its team!

We are currently looking for Voice Teachers of all levels of skill and experience to accept dance teaching shifts in various locations across Melbourne and Brisbane.

Curriculum and repertoire are provided. Rehearsals are conducted during Government School terms and outside school hours.

Classes are generally run between 4.00pm and 9.30pm weeknights and 9.00am to 5.00pm Saturday at various locations around Melbourne, Brisbane, and surrounding suburbs.

The successful applicants will have:

  • tertiary voice/singing training, or equivalent professional experience (ie. significant other voice/instrumental training, performance experience etc.)
  • confident and proficient piano skills to teach and accompany students in rehearsals
  • excellent verbal communication skills and a positive attitude
  • teaching experience, or natural aptitude
  • a good rapport with children and young people
  • a current Working with Children Check
